156-year old Lehman Brothers gone? Merrill Lynch gone? This is why they say don't check the news on your vacation! Needless to say, I am shocked - mainly because it happened during the same weekend - but not completely surprised.
At this rate we may really have to consider becoming farmers here. Keep us updated on the state of affairs in the homeland!

Sounds like you two are having a WONDERFUL trip!!!
Reminds me a little of Ray and Nancy's trips. The "Awe" is coming through loud and clear. The "Shock" is really just that. Many times I've wanted to call you, Ankur, to have you explain it all to me--or at least for a word of encouragement. It's such a bleak situation.
I hate to watch it on TV--but on the other hand, I can't seem to turn it off. I stay up well past midnight to hear the commentators "take" on the situation. It's wearing me out. And IKE has been even more gruesome.
I'll save this wonderful diary for you, in case you don't have it when you get back. I can send it to you.
Weather here is getting cooler. Nights have gone down into the 40's, but tonight is predicted to be 34. Wow. Days are beautiful, tho. The leaves haven't turned very much, for which I'm glad. Maybe they'll be pretty when Carol and Mike come.
Shimon and Edna will be here for two nights--26th and 27th. I'm anxious to see them, too. Things are pretty quiet around here since Tanglewood is over, but I'm enjoying the peacefulness!!
I LOVE your blog !!! I've been to some of those places--many years ago. Brings back nice memories.
LUV, Savta P.S. Hope that wasn't your bike crashed up against the fence!!!
